Welcome New Associate Dr. Ashley Banks

Ashley Banks, D.M.D.

Dr. Banks grew up in Dagsboro, Delaware, where she currently resides. Before joining Brafman Family Dentistry as an associate dentist, she was a long time patient of the practice. She graduated from Indian River High School. She played softball for many years at the Pyle Center in Roxanna, as well as for school and travel ball teams.

Education and Training

Dr. Ashley Banks graduated from the Honors College at University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and a minor in history. While at the University of Delaware, she enjoyed serving on the executive board of the Pre-Dental Society, giving tours as a Blue Hen assistant within the biology department. She then attended Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency program at Cristiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. This residency provided extensive training for medically compromised patients, dental trauma cases, and those patients with extensive and difficult treatment plans.

Skills and Expertise

Dr. Banks has volunteered with the Delaware Give Kids a Smile Program and Mission of Mercy Volunteer Program. Dr. Banks enjoys attending continuing education courses, to remain up to date on advancements within the field of dentistry, and expand the services she can offer her patients.

Personal and Hobbies

Dr. Banks grew up in Dagsboro, Delaware, where she currently resides. Before joining Brafman Family Dentistry as an associate dentist, she was a long time patient of the practice. She graduated from Indian River High School. She played softball for many years at the Pyle Center in Roxanna, as well as for school and travel ball teams. Her position was pitcher. Dr. Banks always enjoyed working with her hands, building sets and creating costumes for Odyssey of the Mind, and taking courses in art during high school and undergraduate. She enjoyed her ceramics course the most. Dr. Banks chose to go into dentistry in order to combine art and science, as well as a passion for helping others. She loves general dentistry because it allows her to build relationships with patients over many years of care.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Banks enjoys spending time with her finance', family, and friends. She has a senior Siamese mix, named Shubert. She also loves to read thrillers, travel, and try new restaurants.
